Cargo is a short film (runtime 7:04) that takes place during a zombie apocalypse, and covers a father’s journey to save his young infant daughter after he’s infected.
No dialogue in the film, however it’s completely astounding how the directors were able to convey the pure love the father portrayed to his daughter. The film really describes to me a factor of, “Okay, so I’m going to die, and instead of trying to save myself, I’m going to face the fact and do everything I can to make sure my daughter is safe”.
You really develop a feeling of a love for these two as the film goes on, which allows you to connect and feel with the situation that’s taking place. Even in the middle of the film when the father stops at an abandoned house to find something to please his daughter, your mind is totally taken out of the apocalypse and focuses in on the love for these two human beings. It’s truly beautiful.
A wonderful take on a zombie apocalypse, well done.
Cargo was my 1st Zombie film. Your synopsis was bang on!
