On Standby

Hello Website. It’s been awhile.

I’ve been busy lately…this is generally how I start most blog posts. However this is slightly different!

For the last month I’ve been back and forth from Toronto doing cinematography / camera op. work for a few different projects. Although it’s been almost constant work, it’s been calming to be back on set shooting. Some of the projects are under non-disclosure and I can’t talk about them, but I can share with you a few stills and BTS photos from working on “Standby” with Ponderdog Productions.

Synopsis: A desperate man resorts to smuggling his wife inside of a piece of luggage in hopes of finding a better life in a new country. His hopes are put on hold when his plane arrives-but the bag containing his wife does not.

Here are some stills and BTS photos from the shoots.

And here is a short BTS clip of a tricky tracking shot. It had to be done old-school hand-held, without my shoulder rig or EasyRig, and we didn’t have a Ronin or Movi stabilizer. In the clip you can see how we pulled it off.

I met some hilarious and wonderfully bizarre folks during these shoots. I can’t wait to see them again when the film is complete.

In my visits, I also got to catch up with some dear film friends!

Toronto, you’ve been treating me well. Looking forward to working with you some more.
